Biography:
Welcome to my website!
Inside these pages, you will find some of my personal history in the audio engineering world. Since I was an early teen, I have lived and breathed every aspect of music. It is a natural part of my life and the only thing I want to do every day I'm above ground.
As a small child, I grew up listening to 8 tracks and albums which belonged to my uncle. Album covers of artists such as Chicago, EWF, ACDC, The Isley Bros, Parliament, and many others would be scattered across the floor while I lay in the living room with a speaker on each side of my head, like headphones, cranked up... and I'd stay there for hours.
I began to learn music playing trumpet for eight years in grade school. In my mid-teens, I played with friends that were in garage bands. About that time, I became intrigued with the sound board and electronics. I began to learn all I could about building and running a sound system. With some knowledge under my belt, by late teens I was professionally mixing for groups in North Carolina.
In 1990, I began working with an R&R Heavy Metal band and spent most of my money buying more and more equipment. In 1992-93, I began mixing for a locally acclaimed 3-piece blues band from the Hickory/Charlotte area: PROJECT BLUE.
I established AW PRODUCTIONS, and by the mid-1990′s, the company was providing sound for many different genres. Such acts include: Project Blue, Ronnie McDowell, David Allen Coe, Georgia Satellites, Doc Watson, Tony Rice, and many heavy metal bands across the Carolinas and beyond.
I have currently been working for many renowned groups in the Carolinas, and have established a very successful recording studio. With the studio, I have enjoyed the privilege of working with many prominent artists. We have produced many radio hits; including five no 1’s in the Carolina Beach Music Industry.
In 2012, I was awarded my first Cammy award for Sound Engineer of the year by the CBMA.
I have traveled professionally for years now with many full time artists across the east coast, providing full sound solutions and support; including custom system builds, full maintenance, electronics repair, consultations, delivery and installs of all types.
